Career Gear Houston has remained committed to empowering men on their journey from poverty to self-sufficiency. Through strong partnerships with job training programs and community-based organizations, we provide high-impact, cost-effective solutions that support individuals in securing meaningful employment.

We are a Social Service non-profit serving Katy/West Houston. We have a Social Services Department that offers emergency financial assistance and resiliency programs, a Food Pantry dedicated to eradicating hunger, a Crisis Center that houses the Domestic Abuse Center and the Sexual Assault Center, and Resale Stores / Donation Centers.

L.I.F.E. Houston, a United Way partner has been filling bottles and feeding babies since 1988. Our Food For Babies program began with the combined efforts of Marion Knight and the leadership of the Church of St. John the Divine in Houston.

Born out of the community, for the community, MAM provides holistic economic mobility services throughout the year to help families gain long-term stability. MAM is a refuge and a springboard for our neighbors, from the most vulnerable to those searching for that open door, for that one opportunity to use their full potential and thrive.

SERJobs, like the other organizations here today, are here to offer support. We do so in a unique way, for people in unique circumstances – those who are under-served and under-resourced: opportunity youth, people from the re-entry community, our veterans, single parents, displaced people… but we don’t stop there.

Mental Health Counseling

Since our founding in 1946, The Council on Recovery has been at the forefront of helping individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by alcoholism, drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders.

The Women’s Home has worked to build whole lives in the Houston area. We currently have four unique programs: a residential treatment and transitional housing program, two permanent supportive housing programs, and a collaborative service center that offers support services to help prevent and end homelessness in our community.
