YP Board Bios

Alexa Clements
President

Alexa was born and raised in Houston and is a strategic communications advisor. She has experience in supporting companies during special situations, including transactional work, crises, restructurings, and executive transitions, and also provides ongoing support in corporate profile raising. She received her B.A. in Communication and Media Studies from Franklin University Switzerland, and a Master’s in Corporate Communication from the University of Lugano.

Claire Campbell

Claire was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She studied advertising and business at Texas Tech University in Lubbock (wreck 'em) and graduated in 2018 with her BA in Advertising. After graduation, Claire moved back to Houston where she began her career at Revenew International, a cost recovery audit company, as their Marketing Coordinator. She was introduced to Family Houston Young Professionals through Family Houston Board of Directors member, Kris Westbrook. Claire is also active in the Houston Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, where she serves as the Publications Director. In her free time Claire loves spending time with her 7-year-old Boxer mix rescue named Sadie.

Jessica Cox
Former Vice President

A native Texan, Jessica was born in Houston and raised in Austin. She studied film and advertising/public relations at TCU and graduated with her BA in Communications in 2009. She relocated to Houston in September 2014 and began her career in legal marketing/business development in December of that year. She has worked for two AmLaw 50 law firms and is currently a business development manager for Hunton Andrews Kurth. Jessica previously served as Vice President of the Family Houston Young Professionals Board.

Tyanna Hackney

Tyanna “Ty” Hackney joined the YP board in summer of 2020.  When Ty first learned about Family Houston in the fall of 2019 she immediately connected with the mission and strongly believes in helping those in need. Tyanna is originally from a small town in East Texas called Corrigan but came to Houston to complete her law degree and has been here ever since. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Phoenix before going on to receive an MBA from University of Houston. Ty is the owner of Paralegal Source and is currently attending law school. In addition to her role as a Family Houston Young Professional Board Member, Ty also serves as the President of the Alumni Association of The University of Phoenix – Houston Chapter. In her free time Tyanna enjoys yoga and basketball as well as being a mother to two.

Camille Elmore
Secretary

Camille is an Alabama native and a recent Texas transplant. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Go Blazers, not Roll Tide). Here in Houston, Camille works as a Job Developer for the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA). In this role, she works in developing the career potential of youth with employment barriers. Camille is a new board member in 2020 and is excited to devote her passion for community service to advance the noble mission of Family Houston.

Ryan Huff

Originally from Lubbock, Ryan graduated from Texas Tech in 2007 with a degree in Finance. He has been in some form of banking for 15 years, from accounting and finance to IT and network administration. A Houston resident since 2013, Ryan is currently working at First Horizon Bank in the middle-market Commercial and Industrial Lending Group. Shortly after attending the Volunteer Manager Leadership Program, a prep course for serving on non-profit boards, Ryan was introduced to Family Houston and the rest is history.  Ryan has been a Family Houston Young Professionals Board Member since 2017.

Linda Madden
Former President

Linda is a Senior Account Executive for a Houston-based PR firm, and specializes in executing media relations strategies and developing digital marketing campaigns to align corporate goals with integrated communication strategies. Prior to joining Pierpont in 2016, Linda began her career with the Ehrhardt Group, advising corporations and local institutions in the critical areas of media relations, reputation management and crisis communications throughout New Orleans and the Gulf South. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Trinity University and MBA with a concentration in finance from Tulane University. Linda has served as the Board President for the Young Professionals of Family Houston since 2017 and is excited to continue to promote the organization's programs and outreach services.

Karolina Marguia

Karolina is originally from Hutto, Texas the home of the Hutto Hippos. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. After college, Karolina worked in a medical center for several years and in the Health Disparities Research Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Currently, Karolina works as a solo practitioner and practices Business Immigration Law.  Karolina learned about Family Houston Young Professionals through a lunch meeting with work colleagues and Family Houston Board of Directors member, Sergio Leal. 

“I had been actively looking for a non-profit board to serve on and wanted to assist with an organization that had a mental health component.”

Yvonne Juarez Rivera

Yvonne was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Texas Tech University in 2008 and a Master of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Houston in 2011. She currently works for 5Engineering as a project manager on water and wastewater facility projects. Yvonne became a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer in 2012. She is also a graduate of Leadership Houston Class XXXV. 

“I believe that Family Houston’s work is essential because it provides the tools for underprivileged families to overcome challenges in today's society.” 

Dan Stypa

Dan is originally from the Cleveland, OH area and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications from Bowling Green State University in 2008 before earning a Masters in Higher Education Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2010. Dan worked in Tampa, FL for a few years before moving to Houston in 2012 and has called Houston home since then. Dan spent over 8 years working in Development & Alumni Relations at Rice University before starting as the Director of Sales for Orbridge, a tour operator specializing in small group educational travel for non-profit organizations based outside of Seattle, in mid 2020.
