Famil-eFacts – September 2017 News
Family Houston is truly heartbroken over the unprecedented devastation that Hurricane Harvey brought on our Houston and neighboring communities.
We are grateful that our staff members and their loved ones are safe and sound. Because of the nature of their work here at Family Houston, most of them were among the first volunteers to offer their help at the George R. Brown Center, churches, and neighborhood centers, helping all those in need; they helped families “muck and gut” and they donated supplies and funds.
Now that our offices are open, our staff members will continue providing their services to all affected by the hurricane through our counseling services and helping them navigate insurance claims and any benefits for which they may be eligible.
We are working closely with the City of Houston, United Way and the organizations that are part of the Greater Houston Storm Recovery Network to meet all those affected by the hurricane in their neighborhood to help them recover from the worst natural disaster in the history of Houston.
You or your loved ones may have been affected by this disaster, you may have volunteered to help your community recover, or you have donated to support the recovery efforts. We want you to know that all of us, here at Family Houston, we stand by your side. If you or a loved one was affected by the floods, please contact us or pass along our information below or our website www.familyhouston.org.
Our hearts go out to all those who were affected by this unprecedented natural disaster. Please know we are here to help you, your loved ones, your friends, or anyone who suffered through this ordeal.
Our counselors and case managers are ready to help you recover!
